The William Makepeace Thackeray The Newcomes maroon brown coloured binding, which are blind-stamped with gilt decoration to the spines are in Very Good condition being complete, but with marks to the boards and fading to the spine and corner knocks. However, the decoration, lettering and volume numbering is still vividly clear. This is the William Makepeace Thackeray The Newcomes first edition books in the original cloth published by Bradbury and Evans London, with the Volume 1 Title Page dated 1854 and the Volume 2 Title Page dated 1855.

The My Days with the Fairies original publisher’s binding consists of the front board with an elaborate elf Drop-of-Crystal taken from the Edmund Dulac colour plate tipped-in at page 86 illustrating The Fairies Who Changed Places. The spine is similarly illustrated by Edmund Dulac and features a cockerel.
